Business leaders warn that housebuilding in London has stalled and urge faster action to boost construction in order to meet government housing targets. A report by BusinessLDN says progress on new homes in the capital is close to stagnant and calls for new schemes to support development and more efficient regulation to speed up building. The group also urged Labour to reconsider the abolition of the “non-dom” tax regime, arguing that recent changes to the tax system risk driving wealthy international residents out of London. It has proposed creating an “Office for Tax Competitiveness” to assess how tax policy affects investment and economic growth. |
