East London prices rise 62% on back of Olympic Games

More builders needed

London needs nearly 9,000 extra building workers, including carpenters, plasterers and roofers, to cope with a recovering construction market over the next five years, according to the Construction Industry Training Board. The board estimates that the industry faces an average annual shortfall of 1,790 workers a year to 2019.
