Dubai-based developer Arada has unveiled the first phase of its £2.5bn Thameside West regeneration scheme, which will transform a 47-acre waterfront site in Silvertown’s Royal Docks. The development is expected to deliver around 5,000 homes, with 35% designated as affordable housing, while half of the site will be dedicated to green space, including a major new riverfront park. The first phase will comprise six buildings alongside the new public park, with Arada working with Transport for London on a proposed Thames Wharf DLR station and expected to contribute £9m towards its delivery. Arada acquired an 80% stake in Thameside West from Keystone for £225m last year and has committed a further £100m investment to the project. |
