The Green Party says Land Registry figures indicate the price of a new home in London has soared by almost 50% since Boris Johnson became Mayor.

The Party says the average cost of a newly built property is £477,438, a rise of more than £150,000 since Mr Johnson was elected in 2008. Darren Johnson, London Assembly Green Party member, said: “We need a radical change to housing policy in London so that new homes are affordable to cleaners, teachers and IT professionals.”
